Discovery Cards: Youth PDF

This PDF version of these 5" x 7" cards were designed for older children (ages 9-12) as found in grades 4-8. These cards may be used just like the Adult Discovery Cards. Simply show a set of cards, explain what the pictures represent, review the text on the back, and have them pick the card that is more like them than any other.

Because young people have the tendency to respond like their peers, make sure they don’t feel this kind of pressure. Also, many boys think it is cool to be Orange while many girls think they are supposed to be Blue. If this happens, take a close look at their next-most-favorite color -- this may be their true color. Then, weigh their selections against your own observations of their behavior.

It is important to remember that as children grow and mature, they often temporarily adopt attributes of other personality types until they ultimately "find themselves." During this time, it is more important that they understand the characteristics of each color than it is to figure out their own specific personality type.
